Canada's Vincent Jourdain is returning to cycling after a three year stint with the Canadian Olympic Committee.  However, he will not be returning to Cycling Canada, where he was the Road Coach from 2005-2011.  Instead, he will be joining the UCI in a newly created position - Road Manager, Race Operations.

Vincent will move to Aigle, Switzerland, sometime in November, but will be getting his feet wet with the UCI at the Road Worlds this coming week in Doha, Qatar.

The new position deals with course safety, particularly on the WorldTour; a growing concern given the number of accidents that have occurred in the past few seasons.

"I really enjoyed my three years with the COC," said Jourdain.  "It was a little bit of a surprise, since I wasn't looking for this position, but I'm looking forward to this new challenge and working with Matt.  This takes me back to my passion, road cycling."

Vincent is the third Canadian to take a position with the UCI, joining Matt Knight in the Road Department.  Matt is the Head of Road, having moved up from Road Coordinator.  Within the last two years, Kevin MacCuish became the BMX Coordinator
