A total of 18 riders have been selected to represent Canada  for the Downhill World Championships, which will take place in Champéry, Switzerland, on September 6-7. The team will consist of nine Elite (two women / seven men) and nine Junior (two women / seven men), led by World Cup winning pros Gracey Hemstreet and Jackson Goldstone.

Champéry holds positive memories for Canada, as the site of Catharine Pendrel's world championship title in 2011, and the steep, technical course will push riders to their limits. Canada's lineup includes some of the sport's most exciting talent, with standout performances across the global stage. On the Junior side, Anthony Shelly enters with a Crankworx victory under his belt, bringing precision and power to one of the season's toughest tracks. Tayte Proulx-Royds, the reigning Junior national champion, turned heads with a top ten finish in her World Cup debut and continues to build momentum.

Among the elite riders, Gracey Hemstreet, who is Canada's first woman to win an Elite Downhill World Cup, comes off back-to-back victories in Loudenvielle and Leogang, solidifying her status as a podium regular. Jackson Goldstone, a former Junior World Champion and two-time Red Bull Hardline winner, has dominated the 2025 season, with four consecutive World Cup wins and a second-place, to lead the World Cup standings, making him one of the most formidable riders on the global circuit.

"We are all very excited for the upcoming World Championships in Champéry, Switzerland!" explains Cycling Canada's National Team Coach, Chad Hendren. "The lineup of Canadian athletes is very solid, and we are looking very strong going into the event. Our Elite contingent is an all-star squad with podium potential and our Juniors are excited and ready to face the legendary track. This is one of the strongest teams we've had and we're super excited to get tires on dirt!"
