The Foundation was established in 2003 after the UCI Road Cycling World Championships in Hamilton, Ontario as part of the legacy endowment from the event. For over twenty years the Foundation has worked to improve the sport of cycling in Canada. Recent years have included support for Juniors selected to the Road world championships and Mission 2026 - supporting the most promising athletes in the lead up to 2026 World Championships.
Over the years (2010 - 2025), 115 total athletes have been supported; 109 were Junior world championship grant recipients. Among the names are Olympic medallists and riders who have gone on to professional careers, including Derek Gee, Alison Beveridge, Ariane Bonhomme, Nigel Ellsay, Piere-Andre Cote, Sara Poidevin, Maggie Coles-Lyster, Nick Zukowsky and Elite world champions Magdeleine Vallières-Mill (Road) and Dylan Bibic (Track).
The Foundation's mission is to help aspiring young Canadian cyclists reach the pinnacle of road cycling, a career in professional sport.

Mission 2026
Mission 2026 Grants provide financial support to athletes preparing to represent Canada at the 2026 Road World Championships in Montreal. Eligible athletes are born between 2004-2007 and demonstrate the potential and drive to compete amongst the world’s best U23 road cyclists.
Mission 2026 Grants will provide $4,000 - $8,000 annually to each recipient.
Mission 2026 Criteria
The applicant must:
• be Canadian (women or men)
• be born between 2004 - 2007
• be eligible to compete in the 2026 UCI U23 Road World Championships for Canada
• demonstrate the potential to be globally competitive in the U23 Time trial and/or Road Race at the World Championships by 2026
• re-apply annually

The selection of eligible athletes for Mission 2026 grants will be the sole discretion of the board of directors of the foundation. Along with the exact duration and amount of each grant. The Foundation realizes no two athletes are the same, nor is the degree of support they need to be their best. These grants will be awarded on a very subjective basis, with deliberation by the Board and consultation with athletes, coaches and outside advisors to the Foundation.
Grant recipients will provide the Foundation with occasional updates and a season review. Grants will be reviewed annually for continuance, current recipients need to re-apply.
Young Prospects
Young Prospects Grants provide financial support to athletes born between 2008 - 2010 who have the aspiration to compete at an international level.
Grants will provide $2,000 - $4,000 annually to each recipient.
Young Prospects Grant Criteria
The applicant must:
• be Canadian (women or men)
• be born between 2008 - 2010
• demonstrate the potential to be globally competitive junior cyclists
