We are pleased to announce the winners in our 14th annual search for the Best Shops in Canada, as chosen by you, the readers of Canadian Cyclist. Thousands of votes were cast from all across Canada. It's been another difficult year for small businesses across Canada, and bike shops had it extra hard.
We have gone through the ballots and broken them down by region to determine the 2025 Canadian Cyclist Best Bike Shops. A total of 37 shops from across the country have been selected, one less than last year.
Twenty four (23) shops repeated as winners - two less than last year. The two shops that have won in the previous 13 years - The Cyclery in Ottawa and Pedalhead Road Works in Edmonton - are on our list again, making them the only 14-time winners.
Over 200 shops received nominations, with many shops tweeting about the competition, or including a link to it in their newsletters and social media pages. There were many newcomers to the nomination list.
Two things shone through for all of the top ranked stores: customer service and passion for cycling, often expressed by involvement in the local community.
Congratulations to all our winners.
A sad note: One of our perennial winners - Centre du Vélo La Shop in Gatineau closed their doors at the end of November. Some voters paid tribute:
• For more than 5 years, this shop initiated and inspired myself and my entire family to become cyclists. They will be missed by the entire community.
• After winning the title of best bike shop a couple of times [much more than a couple - Ed.] over the past 17 incredible years of passion, dedication, and service, Centre du Vélo LaShop has officially proceeded with a soft closure on November 29th, 2025. Widely recognized as the best bike shop in Gatineau, LaShop has been more than just a store‚ it has been a hub for the cycling community across Ottawa/Gatineau, a place where riders of all levels found not only expert guidance but also friendship, encouragement, and inspiration. I extend my deepest gratitude to the entire staff whose commitment and expertise made every visit memorable. And with heartfelt appreciation, thanking Joe and Pat, the visionary owners whose leadership, warmth, and unwavering dedication built LaShop into the beloved institution it became. Their legacy will live on in every ride, every trail, and every cyclist whose journey was enriched by your care. The Ottawa/Gatineau cycling community will always remember Centre du Vélo LaShop with admiration and gratitude. This is why I submit Centre du Velo LaShop for the best bike shop to received an honorable and final title! Thank you for everything. BuckAroo

Ontario - North
Algoma Bicycle Company - Sault Ste Marie There are two women who work here who are just awesome - they can do it all, they can wrench on bikes and talk about bikes and all the gear. I always leave learning something new after chatting with Heather or Erin.
Crank & Sprocket - Orillia The people and support they have given my family through the seasons. Even allowing my son to volunteer there and work on bikes to learn. They keep my kids on bikes as they try to continue in their dreams in racing from gravel, mtb, cx.
Forks Bicycle Shop - Owen Sound Brian is hands down the most knowledgeable bike shop owner and mechanic. There isn't anyone I trust with my bicycle more than him. He could quadruple his rates and he would still be undervaluing his skills.
Parry Sound Bikes - Parry Sound Where do I begin??? Amazing owners and staff: knowledgeable, personable, sincere, good people to the core. Excellent product selection, excellent service, and excellent coffee! They host four evening rides through the summer every week, along with several special events on Sundays. PSB support for community is the best I've experienced anywhere in the world.
Velorution Bike & Ski - Sault Ste Marie When I walk in I am ALWAYS greeted! I am helped by a happy employee who is knowledgeable and willing to take time with me. The store has a stock for any budget. The store caters to is customers. I know I can go, be offered a coffee and visit even just to look around. The store supports the community and special events! I wouldn't go to any other store. I am treated like family and feel welcome even if it's been quite a while between visits.
Ontario - Southwest
Cycle Culture - Tecumseh Through this bike shop, I got connected with a local women's mountain bike club which then opened up the doors to road biking and this shop was by my side for my whole journey into falling in love with cycling. It supported me and opened up a whole new community to me. Even making sure it was clear that none of my questions were dumb! They challenged and supported me through multiple 100km rides. Providing classes on how to maintain and care for your bike. They support many local events and charities through their endeavours. It's become a place that I always see a familiar face when I come in. Even if it's a visit to chit chat even when I don't need anything. I can't speak highly enough how welcoming it was for someone new to the sport but also how they extend themselves in the cycling community and beyond. Truly a gem in the community. This is why my Cycle Culture is my favourite.
Dundas Speed Shop - Dundas Chad and his team are amazing. Great atmosphere. They are really chill and knowledgeable. One of the mechanics told me Chad has been to the Olympics and world championships as a mechanic for Team Canada. How cool is that for a normal person to have your bike worked on by someone with that experience? Everyone there is humble and seems like a great place to work. I needed a weird small part or two for my mountain bike and they treated me like I was buying a $10,000 bike. Cool shop. Saving up for a Santa Cruz now.
Ziggy's Cycle - Kitchener The warmth and friendly service and the assortment of products and services beats every other store in the area.
Manitoba/Saskatchewan
Bikes & Beyond - Winnipeg, Manitoba This past year I have had the opportunity to travel, east, west and south of the border. During this time I visited many different bike shops. Bikes & Beyond knocks it out of the park for me because of its vast selection of bikes, equipment, but most importantly the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. The owner does a great job of giving back to the community and encourages people to get out and ride no matter what kind of bike you got! Their overall enthusiasm for bikes and everything that goes along with that is exceptional!
Dutch Cycle - Regina, Saskatchewan
Western Cycle - Regina, Saskatchewan The facility, the stock, the people, the support, the community, the group rides..... this shop is the real deal!!!!!
Alberta
BikeBike - Calgary Sean is not just a guy who owns a bike shop, but a fierce advocate for safe streets and community in Calgary. I have always left feeling confident that I am being taken seriously and will get the very best advice - something that many women in bikes shops do not take for granted. Simply the best place to buy a bike in YYC!
Bike Bros. - Cochrane I was looking for a Marin Mountain bike and Bike Bros were the only shop around that had both the models I wanted to see. Matt helped me figure out which one suited my needs and I've been thrilled ever since.
Hardcore Bikes - Edmonton Sales and service is very knowledgeable. Several times they have performed a small service or repair simply from walking in with my bike. Such a life saver. Great shop. Support local!
Pedalhead Road Works - Edmonton The best people. Guri, Kim, and Sam are the best to ever do it. It also has the best bikes, gear, space, and quality of work too - but at the end of the day it's the people that keep you coming back, and PRW has quality humans in spades!
British Columbia
Broad Street Cycles - Victoria
Corsa Cycles - Squamish Friendly, affordable, knowledgeable and no pressure to upsell. Corsa Cycles also does a lot for the local community and trails, as well as supporting the local BC Cup downhill series.
Norco North Shore - North Vancouver Their service is second to none, very knowledgeable about the local trails and always treat my kids well, even when they're being total spaz's.
Okanagan Bike Co. - Armstrong We were told about this road bike only store in the Okanagan. One of our friends went there and told us that we should go and check it out. Our first thought was that it was all the way in Armstrong. Three hour drive from our town. So one weekend we decided to make the drive. Well, wow. Professional service, comfortable buying atmosphere and great products. I mean...really great products. I ended seeing a bike that was my favourite colours and components and basically everything. The staff helped me with fit and got it all ready. I have been back multiple times to that store as they treated me so well and continue to help me out. It is great when you walk into a store and they greet you by name. 100% amazing! We love this store.
