Sydor Wins!

We just received word from Team Schwinn Canada manager Chris Redden that Alison Sydor has won the first stage of the Redlands Classic stage race. It came down to a field sprint, with Sydor taking the win over American Karen Kurreck. All other Canadians finished safely in the pack. Road racer turned mountain biker Sue Palmer (riding for Haro as an independent) leads the Points competition. The race was 13 laps of a circuit just over 4.5 kilometres in length. The only interesting feature was a single climb (where Palmer got her points). The mens race is currently underway, stay tuned for results in a while.
