Tuesday night at the Mardis de Lachine, Michael Barry, Pierre Chevrier and Jacques Landry from Radio Energie were in a 9 rider break, also in that group was Ceszlaw Lucaszewicz, the Canadian road champion. At the final sprint, in the rain, Ceszlaw was the fastest of the group and end up in first place, Pierre Chevrier from Radio Energie was second, and Michael Barry also from Radio Energie took third place. It was only the second time that Michael has participating in the race, and he apparently had a lot of fun sprinting every five laps and just going hard for 40km!

Canmore World Cup

This weekend the first of the North American Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup events takes place in Canmore Alberta. Rob flew out this morning to peruse the site and partake in some pre-race festivities. He and Greg Flaaten will be on site all weekend to give regular reports by cell phone. So, if the cell signal is good, and the weather co-operates we will have lap by lap reports all weekend.

The women‚s race is Saturday at noon (Alberta time) and the men‚s race is Sunday at noon. There is also a Junior race on Sunday morning at 9am.

Women‚s Giro

I know you are all dying for Canadian results from the Giro. Well so are we. There seems to be a real problem getting any more than the top ten. If anyone has a contact (reliable) please forward it by e-mail. Thanks!
