Burnaby Six-Day - Day 4
Courtesy Scott Laliberte, Race Director

With the B and C Omniums concluding, the four way battle for the A Omnium developing and the Night of Past Champions all happening on the Fourth Night, it was hard to pick a highlight of the night in my opinion.

However once the long list of Past, Present, and Future Champions was listed off and Lorne "Ace" Atkinson took to the track for what was supposed to be a slow parade lap, the highlight was obvious. With fire in his eyes that must have been a 'blazin back in his days of racing, Lorne not only took off on the younger riders that were expecting a slow jaunt around the cote, he got onto the steep track surface itself and proceeded to take a few quick laps. My many thanks to Lorne, his family and all the Past Champions for showing up.
