Rider Needed

Vancouver-based Team looking for Elite men racer. Sponsors lined up and team all organized but due to unforeseen circumstances we are short one male rider. Category 1/2, preferably Espoir rider . If rider is outside the area, willingness to spend most of season in Lower Mainland a must. Please email scottlala@shaw.ca with resume.


Team Biovail 2006

Biovail Corporation and Giroscopic Sports management continue to solidify their relationship as they enter their third year of partnership in sponsoring the women's elite cycling team, Team Biovail. Team Biovail will continue to ride in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association in 2006 by attending events on their behalf and partnering with the CDA on various health and wellness initiatives.

Team Biovail is very excited to announce that they will be riding Blue Competition Cycles for the upcoming season. Champion Systems will be outfitting the team for its technical wear.

The following riders will wear Team Biovail colors:

This line up of riders will be one of Canada's strongest teams in 2006.

Anne Samplonius, a veteran to the sport and former silver medalist in the ITT at the World Championships has joined the team after a year as manager of the Women's Subway Team that produced some great results in 2005. Joëlle Numainville was the 2005 Junior Road and ITT Champion and adds some younger talent to the roster. Stephanie Bourbeau joined the team halfway though the 2005 season and was first in GC at Green Mountain Stage Race flying the teams colours. Stéphanie is also the Quebec ITT Champion. Natasha Elliott joined the team in the later half of 2005. Natasha comes from a running background; she attended Coastal Carolina University on a running scholarship.

RWR / Peak Winter Series

Just a reminder that the next stage of the RWR / Peak Winter series will be held January 7-8 at the Peak Centre for Human Performance in Ottawa and Tuesday January 10 at the Peak Centre in Vancouver. To book your start time or for more info call the Peak Centre in Ottawa at 613-737-Peak or 604-299-7959 in Vancouver.

Heats in Ottawa (both Saturday and Sunday) will all be held in the Kanata location while the Peak Centre prepares new east end facilities that will be announced shortly. Sunday's heats will use the same start times with heats starting at 7 am. Once the new facilities are up and running, Sunday heats will return to the east end.

In addition to the heats in Ottawa and Vancouver, Montreal riders will now be able to join the series starting January 8th at the newly opened Peak Centre Montreal. To book your heat and start time in Montreal call 514-341-PEAK. Remember, if you have never ridden a Multirider race the first one is free, so grab your bike and come on out....the New Year has started and it is time to get it underway.
