Downhiller Steve Smith, who broke his leg in Val di Sole and was not able to attend the World Championships in Champery, Switzerland, has had surgery.  According to his manager, Gabe Fox, a pin has been inserted at the break and the surgery went well.

Steve should be able to resume weight bearing training in 8-10 weeks.
